Description

Details:

In the event of a power failure, the unit will automatically activate all 12V emergency lights connected to it. When mains power is restored the unit automatically switches the lamps off and recharges the battery. The 12V lamps can be used in maintained mode i.e. the mains-derived low-voltage supply can be used during normal conditions.

Features:

  • 2-year Unit Warranty
  • 3-month Battery Warranty
  • Emergency lighting kit for 12V lamps and LEDs
  • 100% emergency lighting for up to 6 hours (load dependent)
  • Non-maintained operation

Installation:

  • Position the ELS charger near a mains outlet (It can be mounted on the wall utilising the two base slots).
  • Route all lamp wires (standard 0.5 mm2 flex cable) through the ceiling cavity back to the charger unit. The maximum length of flex cable between the lamp and the charger unit is 20 metres.
  • Connect all lamp wires to the charger (Make sure the lamps are not connected backwards), i.e. the positive from the charger must be connected to the positive on the lamp). The flex usually has cotton strands to identify one of the wires.
  • Open the charger lid and connect the positive battery lead and then replace the lid.
  • Please note that this unit is shipped with a 5A (small) plug.

The ELS contains a battery charging circuit for its 7Ah lead-acid maintenance-free battery.

The unit has two indicating lights: the green light shows that mains power is on and the red light shows that the battery is flat. The red light will go off when the battery is fully charged. If the unit is disconnected from the mains for storage, the battery must be disconnected to prevent damage.

Specifications:

  • Input Voltage: 230VAC
  • Run Time: Varies according to load, but 5 x 5W Downlights will run for over 3 hours
  • Changeover Time: <100ms
  • Output Voltage: 12V
  • Battery Type: 12V 7Ahr Sealed Lead Acid
  • Weight: 4kg
  • Dimensions: 280 x 75 x 120mm
