Panel walls allow a controlled, design-led fibre layout. Start by choosing whether the effect should be sparse and architectural or denser and more decorative, then match the kit size to the planned surface. The light source remains central, while the fibre ends are distributed across the labelled blocks.
Use fibre optic points to turn a panel wall into a subtle star field or feature surface.

What to decide first
Every kit in this range uses an adjustable twinkle effect and is available in 100, 200 or 300 stars, with 3000K, 6000K or RGB options. The correct choice depends on the surface area, the atmosphere you want and how the installation will be coordinated with the building or room finish.
Choosing the light colour
- 3000K: a warm-white option for a softer, more relaxed appearance.
- 6000K: a cool-white option for a crisper, brighter-looking effect.
- RGB: a colour-changing option for more expressive or entertainment-led applications.
Planning the layout
The supplied diagrams group the fibres into labelled blocks. Each block represents 1 square metre and contains 22 × 0.75mm fibres and 11 × 1.00mm fibres. The supplier instructions specify a 1mm drill bit for the 0.75mm fibres, a 1.2mm drill bit for the 1.00mm fibres and a central light-source position. Small clusters can look more natural than a perfectly even grid.
Match the kit to the project
Use the collection to compare the three star-count sizes and the three colour options. Avoid choosing by star count alone: measure the intended surface, consider access for the light source and check when the project can accommodate the installation.
Installation and safety
Complete the painted or finished surface before starting, drill carefully because the bits are thin, allow glue to dry before trimming, and use a qualified person for electrical connections. For pool projects, GFP’s stated limitation is new builds only and Marbelite, mosaic tile or Pebbletech finishes only. Do not present this range as a general retrofit pool-light solution.
Next step
Browse the Fibre Optic Lights South Africa collection, then follow the installation guide once the kit and project stage are confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
Which fibre optic kit size should I choose?
Choose between the 100, 200 and 300-star kits by the planned coverage and layout shown in the supplier diagrams. Measure the finished surface before ordering.
Do all the kits have a twinkle effect?
Yes. The Future Light GFP kit range is specified with an adjustable twinkle effect.
Can I use the kits in a swimming pool?
GFP lists swimming-pool applications for new builds only and only for Marbelite, mosaic tile or Pebbletech finishes. Confirm the full project method with the relevant qualified team.
